Yeah, it would be nice to have pirate treasure maps. Weren't they also in earlier Larian games? Or just descriptions (you will find the treasure at one bowshot distance to the west of the stack of rocks) could be nice too. Ever since I found a shovel somewhere I expected there would be some digging at some point.
Anyway, I like the idea of having to work for comprehension of your whereabouts, and (as mentioned in thread about the theme park style playing area design) having no automatic high-def overview map could help immersion and add another layer of challenge to the game.
