I seem to have a somewhat curious (and irritating) problem;
Sometimes, when (quick)loading a saved game, the map in the mapwindow completely disappears, all it displays are my two green dots and blackness. Also, the Area Map is black aswell.. When moving, nothing happens in the mapwindow, except for the green dots moving. At first I thought that this happened only in battle, but actually what happens in battle if I quicksave and then load, is that the entire screen is black, though I can hear some sounds!
I tolerated this, getting a bit grumpy about all the bugs still left in this game (I use patch 1.44, but I also guess my hardware factors in, since casual browsing does not reveal any others having the same problems), but now I have been so unlucky as to have made 5 quicksaves before loading one and checking that the map was ok, resulting in me having a black mapwindow and areawindow in all 5 saves (and I have no normal saves). Reloading doesn't help, but areashifting does fix the problem a bit. My saves are in the battlefield of Act 1, and areashifting back to the game seems to fix the problem, in as much as my map there is ok. When however I re-enter the battlefields, my mapwindow works, but the areamap only displays a somewhat huge square of map. When approaching the black areas, it comes up with another huge square of map, and so on, possibly remembering my old advances. This is rather strange, and quite irritating, but I guess I can live with it. Still, wanted to report this bug in any case.
Also, when selecting a movement path for my characters, the game will sometimes not let me click beyond their visual range either, and sometimes with clicking on something far away from the characters, it instead places the movement markers just inside their visual range instead.. This is weird too.. Oh well, am I unlucky? Probably <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
