Just like the title says. As of Patch 5, food serves no other real purpose than as supplies for a long rest at camp. Picking it up along the way just adds weight to your backpack that won't serve a function until you return to camp, so I inevitably end up right-clicking any food I have and selecting "send to camp" from the drop-down list. It's a pain to do this for each individual fish and wheel of cheese. I think it would be a nice, practical QoL improvement if all food items/camp supplies were automatically sent to camp when looted, as that's the only place we can use them anyway.

Once more I am falsely accused of whatever it is that I am accused of. Falsely.

Another +1.

I would even suggest going one step further, and consider food consumed for the night rest being taken directly from the party's stash, not the inventory.

This way, food should never appear in your inventory at all, other than during the Nautiloid tutorial maybe.

P.S. Ideally, I think there should be a separate storage for food. Otherwise the party stash will quickly turn into an unmanageable mess.

you can sell it, I think a pantry would be fine... and that food consumed at night should be able ot be taken directly from the pantry.

When food is sent to camp it should definitly be sent to the pantry instead of party stash.

I would like to see "send to camp all suplies" button ... rather than sending any suplies to camp automaticaly ...
Since you can still get some good money on selling booze, wich is especialy handy at start. :P laugh

I was also going to recommend this. Add a pantry, keep it separate from the party stash, or add a pantry tab to the party stash.

+1 And it would help with uncluttering character's inventory.

Games making auto choices for you like this does not help.
I may want to sell my food. And if I do not, then a simple right click solves the issue.

I think people are too used to having inventory space handed to them no matter how little sense it makes.

It's not an "auto choice" if there is a simple ui element that says "send all supplies to camp". A simple right click multiplied by hundreds of pieces of food becomes an annoyance. This isn't a survival game, the point of making food a resource for resting isn't to add micromanagement into the game. It's to curb the unlimited resting to more closely adhere to 5e.

Multiselect items is really what we need. Select All in Camp Supplies tab, send to camp. Boom. Done.

agreed. ctrl-click to choose items to group one at a time, or shift-click to select multiple items between two items (ala the Windows OS). Or even have ctrl click move items to the camp similar to how shift-click now marks items for sale.

You can literally right click on the items and send them to camp. Its just not that hard.

I do second your idea of selecting multiple items though.

i feel like you're purposely ignoring the "A simple right click multiplied by hundreds of pieces of food becomes an annoyance". i collected almost an entire inventory of food within the first hour of play. It's not simply "literally right click". hover->right-click->send to camp (this is the important part) multiplied by an entire inventory of food. Now repeat that for the entire game. What does this add to the game exactly? Icewind dale almost immediately gives you access to potion/jewel/scroll bags that you can just click and drag. That's much more convenient that the current system we have in what's supposed to be a vastly superior/modern game.

This is why I said "I do second your idea of selecting multiple items though" which you seem to be purposely ignoring.

no just remove send to camp button, make people actually have to chose between picking something up or not.

I like the way you think.
