Weapon damage works as follows:

{the result of the weapon's dice that are rolled on each attack you hit (double if for critical) + the attribute modifier used to attack (strength or dexterity usually) + [1 or +2 or +3 (if the weapon has this enchantment +1/2/3 bonus to hit and to deal damage)]}.

Your attribute modifier is: {(your attribute value - 10) ÷ 2}.

example, if you have 16 strength, and your weapon uses strength, and your weapon has 2 6-sided dice as damage. In addition, she received a +1 enchantment. The computer will roll the dice damage and add +4 damage.
Minimum damage: 6. (1+1+4)
Maximum damage(critical): 28. (6+6+6+6+4)

but that's if you hit the attack, and to hit, there's another formula that uses another mechanic, if you don't know either, you can ask me and I'll explain too.

In plain text, as an alternative:

Each weapon you use has a fixed damage die, which is rolled when you hit. Most melee weapons are a d8, or a d6 for example. Daggers are a d4, while great swords are 2d6.
When you deal damage, you roll the weapon's damage die, and you add to it the ability modifier you use with the weapon - the small number that's attached to each score. For most melee weapons this is your strength modifier - so if you have a strength of 16, you'll add +3 to whatever you roll with the weapon die.

If the weapon is magical and has an enhancement bonus (it will say so on the tooltip), that bonus is also added to the damage you deal.

On a critical, this video game doubles the amount you roll from the dice, but not your other modifiers. This means that if you roll a 5 on your d8 weapon die, for a critical, the game will count that as 10, then add your other modifiers to reach your final damage.

Both attack and damage rolls,

In PnP there are items that will improve your spell attack bonus, and some that will increase your save DC, though they're very rare. It's much easier for martials to gain magical boosts to their offence than it is for casters. In BG3, there are currently no items that give you attack roll or save DC bonuses for casters.

Both, but as they said here, there are still no items that apply to spells (including tricks).

I will try to summarize for you.

If your weapon's damage is 2d6, it can do 2 to 12 damage at random. double on critical hits: 4-24.

This damage is added to your attribute modifier used to attack (usually: strength or dexterity, depends on the weapon and its properties), your modifier is ([attribute-10]/2), if your attribute is 18, your modifier is 4. So your damage is 2-12 + 4.

But if the weapon has + enchantments, then add that + to the damage granted. If it's +1, then your damage it's 2-12+4+1.

Going back to modifiers, every 2 attribute points, increase the modifier or decrease it by 1, the zero point is 10.
8 is -1
10 is 0
12 is 1
18 is 4
20 is 5
