With how D:OS 1 and 2 had 3-4 voice options per gender, and the amount of voiced dialogue in the game, what are the people's thoughts on the idea of being able to pick perhaps out of the sameish-sized selection of voices but be able to select a voice's "personality" for the barks and stuff?

For example, right now we have what can probably be considered a "romantic" or "adventurous" mood to the PC's voices. It's nice in a general sense, but it definitely doesn't fit a few of the more extreme personalities one can come up with. There could be a gruff/dismissive bark set, a lighthearted/humorous one, a maniacal one, what have you. Kinda like how Solasta (<spits>) implements the three speech styles which define the characters' spoken dialogue (casual, formal, slang).

It might be a more practical solution than having way too many available voices which all have the same lines no matter what character you play - making the origin characters take the spotlight once again as the game's more "intended" PC choice, just like in D:OS2.

The voices should be much more distinct. I can hardly tell a difference between the two male and female voices we have.

Like...

Soft voice (elven-like)
Gruff voice (dwarven-like)
Posh voice (educated, higher class)
Peasant voice (less educated or less eloquent)
Older voice
Commanding voice (soldier-like)

etc.

I'd love this, but I could imagine it takes a huge amount of time and effort to re-record all the voice lines for each voice, and then you'd have to do it for both male and female voices.

Even if they keep it to the only two voice actors, please put some sort of personality modifiers ala Dragon 2 or something. It's weird when you create a character with the intention of having them be an aggressive evil character, and they sound and look all doe-eyed and innocent.

I can see how fully voiced dialogue would reduce the variety because that would be a monumental task. But I don't want voiced dialogue for this reason, just basic lines for combat, point and click, basic commentary and observations. Variety in voices is much more important because you do create a character. Especially for multiplayer so everyone doesn't have the same voice.
