Would it be possible to show the length that a character has remaining when the player moves the cursor to a potential endpoint before the player lets go of the mouse button?

For example, if a player has 10 m total distance to travel, if they pick a point seven meters away, have seven meters worth of distance be shown on the yellow travel length meter with a darker shade of yellow to show the player how much distance they potentially would have have remaining if they went to the current location of the cursor.
