Every time I attack something my character is inflicted with Bane. I thought it was enemies casting it, but once I attacked a water barrel by accident and suddenly my character had Bane and there were no enemies around.

Stop using that Absolute stuff without having the mark of the Absolute. It drops a Bane on you for having the insolence to use it without being properly blessed.

Stop using what Absolute stuff?

the Gloves of Power. Read their description: namely the part about woe to any non-believer.

You can get properly blessed from Priestess Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. Until then, store the gloves in camp.

There are other Absolute attuned magic items in game such as:

Absolute's Talisman
Absolute's Warboard
Absolute's Cummerbund


One of these is fake.
