First of, Baldur's Gate 3 is absolutely stunning even now, in early access. But I have some suggestions, that can make your gameplay more immersive and exciting(I haven't seen others mention these features, although I consider them important)
Let's start with Mechanics
1. Third person camera mode
You already can zoom you camera quite close to the character as if it is in a third person mode, BUT the controls stays the same, so you still need to move camera manually AND click on the ground to move your character(Auto-run mode with holding your scroll button is no better). I suggest that after a certain zoom point you controls shift towards WASD movement with a fixed camera behind your character(like in DA:O basically). That will make your exploration more comfortable, and also am I the only one who thinks that transition into a cutscene from the current camera angle seem a bit awkward? Third person would fix that for me. And By the way, graphics is so cool, I want to see the details closer.
2. Resting system/camp supplies
Camp supplies is definitely a right thing, but it needs balance/quality of life upgrades. For now, there is absolutely no problem with finding supplies, I spammed long rest and never suffered any shortage of supplies. Also Sven said, that supplies gap for long rest will increase as you level-up and currently it doesn't work like that. I came up with two ways of solving this problem:
1) Make food consumable and healing potion harder to find. Thus player will choose to either heal in/out of battle with food but without resting in camp or a more difficult battle but with a rest at camp at the end.
2) Random encounters system. So when you rest in the Underdark, for example, it would make sense, that someone could kill you while you sleep. Random encounters will make you waste your supplies more and it's a great way for telling additional stories through current location creatures
3. Active roll system
It needs to be rebalanced. It's so easy to win even the hardest rolls(15-20) with guidance. The system itself is great, but in my 5 Patch playthrough I can't even remember losing a single roll. Also here's my suggestions of upgrading it:
1. Make stealing also a part of active roll system, rigth now it feels a little bit redundant
2. Let casters cast other spells than guidance or charm person. First of all - Detect thoughts or...
3. Disguise self - this spell has so much potential - but right now it almost useless. How can you know before walking through goblin camp that being a drow(or disguise self in one) would make your life a lot easier? So disguise self can also be a part of active roll system(of course it would be stulid to cast disguise self right in front of npc in a dialog, but it can be solved - for example to make cutscene start a little bit BEFORE the dialog itself)
4. Stealth or Rogue/Trick Domain Clerics rebalance/upgrade
Stealth works only out of battle right now and only when you are walking somewhere without companions. There are two major problems
1) When you go scouting as Astarion or Shadowheart alone - and accidentally fail stealth checks/bump into battle-leading cutscene you will 100% die, because your party won't make it in time. So stealth exploration becomes non-profitable - just a waste of scrolls
2) Stealth in combat makes no sense. Rogues should rely on sneak attacks from stealth - right now you won't even understand when you can go in stealth mode and when you can't. So it makes stealth in combat also a bit redundant - straightforward battle with spells and tanks(La'ezel) is much more easier to handle and win all encounters.
And now it's more content-based suggestions(it may be too much, but who knows, maybe Larian will add at least something of this list)
1. Voicing Tav/Main character
This may be too much, but it would be so great. And doesnt'it feel weird when Tav speaks in a cutscene when you set up your camp for the first time but then nowhere else? Also it looks silly when you try to roleplay chaotic evil character but he makes such silly faces in cutscenes sometimes to mimic emotions that it just makes you laugh
2. Lore-plot changes on characters appearance
Remeber when you can lose your eye after Volo's surgery? Or after a Hag's kiss? It would be so great if volo's or hag's eye would really change you appearance. I like Berserk(manga/anime) approach to this - every wound stays on character and makes scars after, so we could watch him change to an expierenced warrior through these scars and wounds. Isn't levelling up should resemble this kind of mechanic? Of course it shouldn't be after every encounter - only in significant lore-plot moments. But it will make connection with your character so much stronger.
3. New companions
Current companions are great, Shadowheart, Astarion and La'ezel are very interesting. But I feel like there are no truly evil companions. For example, Minthara would be a great companion
4. More customization in character creation/different loot
5. And this is very personal - Larian, please add Hexblade warlock! Right now it seems as though Wyll can be a hexblade from plot point of view
