Just like the title says I would love a toggle to enable/disable AI control for party members. At a minimum this doesn't need to be anything special, if party members just used the same AI as the enemy (and improves as the enemy AI improves) then that would be fine. Some of the funnest times I had playing DOS2 was with the party ai mods that did just that. They have the capability of enhancing the roleplaying aspect for some players and for others like me, someone who'll beat this game upside down and sideways, it adds a level of fun chaos to every fight that will either hurt or help you. Obviously this will mean that party members may or may not blow through their ability allotments and that can hurt or hinder players in that they might need to rest when they otherwise wouldn't have but, if it's a toggle than can be switched on for each character, then it's a choice people can choose to make or not. This might also ask the question of if all NPC abilities are recognized by the AI, if they aren't and don't get used, well again it's a choice the players can make with the toggle. At the end of the day with this kind of feature, something is better than nothing.

There are some players who are vehemently outspoken about their dislike for such a system and I can respect that, that's why it's a toggle so you can choose not to use it.

I think the lift for such a feature is small. If this is like DOS2, the capability is already there, it just needs the toggle and the toggle itself can be added onto the profile page for each NPC party member with a small disclaimer warning that the players may not always agree with the NPC AI's decisions.
