Just an idea. Would be fun if there were some quests where difficulty depends on your choices in the past. For example, some quests never give you rewards for saving someone, but those saved people could by chance meet you and stand up for you, or stand at your side in a hard battle for a later quest. The same could be if you made some enemies, but so that being a good guy isn't one sided, it should be difficult being good, or some quests should be morally gray, where you end up upsetting one of the two persons from a faction for example.
Chapter 1 had some of that faction power play at hand: Goblins vs Druids. But unfortunately at the moment the game just assumes that the camp is completely wiped if you only kill off their leader drow and some of the elite minions which turns the rest clueless goblins hostile. It would be much more interesting if a new goblin leader came up (like that one in the cage) and new interactions would be possible with the camp again in some way.
