Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Game is still crashing on startup in Steam

I have the beta on Steam (PC ), and it is fully up-to-date. Even though the previous hotfix and patch were supposed to help with this problem, the game crashes almost immediately when I click "play" and I don't even get to a home screen. Is this issue being addressed in the next big patch, is there some kind of work around? If this has been settled in a prior thread please let me know.

Mine started doing this after the Steam update yesterday. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. Clean install of both my game and graphics card drivers, that included ditching any mods, shutting down the firewall, turning off any background programs, running as administrator, downloading windows files, and plethora of other suggestions I found on Larian's website and YouTube. Nothing worked.

EDIT: I figured out my problem which was, I was trying to run the game from a previous patch so I had to go into Steam and change that. Not sure if that will help but figured I'd share just in case.
