You now how in school you learned that you shouldn't describe a word by using that same word to describe it? This is a perfect example as to why you shouldn't do that. I have a sampling of the descriptions of some of the new weapon attacks:
- Flourish inflicts Off Balance. Description: "Feint an attack to possibly throw your enemy Off Balance."
- Piercing Strike/Shot inflicts Gaping Wounds. Description: "Stab an enemy to deal 1d8+3+2 Piercing damage and possibly inflict Gaping Wounds."
- Weakening Strike inflicts Weak Grip. Description: "Target an enemy's hands with a non-lethal attack and deal 1d4+3 Piercing damage and possibly inflict Weak Grip."
None of those descriptions tells me exactly what it does. What's odd is Larian does have better descriptions for some of the other attacks. For example:
- Hamstrung Shot inflicts Hamstrung. Description: "Shoot an enemy in the thigh to deal 1d6+3+2 Piercing damage and possibly reduce their movement speed by 50%."
That tells me exactly what I need to know about what the Hamstrung condition does. Please do that for the other descriptions.
