Yes, There have been some requesting a "dirtier" look, feeling that shining armors and impeccable clothes didn't feel quite immersive enough. And even though it didn't bother me I can see their reasoning. But now you gave us this.... https://imgur.com/a/gCX7y2c (I didn't figure out how to embedd the pic) An impeccable dress...but my character is dirty! And not the good kind. I'm a sorceress, I don't get my hands dirty. Since the dirt filter obviously only affect our characters' bodies and not the clothes...may I suggest a toggle option for this.

I admire Larian's attempt and listening to feedback, but the clothes and environment are still very clean.
I don't know which direction they are going, but right now it is even more unrealistic.

Or if we're standing in water, how about a chance to wash it off?
Hmm, I haven't tried casting a create water spell yet, could be used as a field shower.

I need to play more to see the system, but honestly, I do like the idea of cuts bruises and dirt increasing between long rests. It would be nice to extend the system to clothing, but don’t go overboard. I don’t necessarily want my characters to be drenched in blood like in DA:Oranges

Its dirt!? Omg…I thought it was some issue with the mesh or skin tone I chose. Jaysus. My dragon-scaled sorceress character looked like a pig sty when she met Gale. How mortifying!
Its like those DAO dialogues that would pop up when I accidentally clicked someone in battle…and we would have serious dialogue or silly banter…all while spattered in blood and gore.
I hate it. Really. We gotta at least be able to wipe our friggen faces off. Sheesh.

Anyone noticed if being all bloodied incerase your chances to intimidate someone? I mean, i kinda doubt that Larian would be SO MUCH thorough, but you never know.
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

I really like this New visual feature even if it's a bit "too much". But it should definitely apply to clothes.

Dirt should be on the clothes first and face last. Dirty face is such an extreme where you have been through mud, ash and fire for days and are too tired to wipe it off. Like Frodo and Sam at the end of their journey at Mt. Doom. In BG3 characters look like that after their first minor skirmish.
And how do the characters get that dirty that quickly in such a clean pristine environment?

Maybe it is a way to try to force us to camp?
Still despise it. First thing I will do is get a mod to get rid of this. I am filthy, no one else is. It just looks incredibly stupid.
For my job, I literally spend weeks out in the middle of nowhere collecting dirty samples. I don’t get to shower for weeks at a time, and the physical work is grueling. It is a filthy job, no doubt. Despite this….I have never had this much dirt on my face. Ever. Seriously. Its called a kerchief. And water.
I wish Larian would temper demands for “realism” when it is coming from folks who may know nothing about camping, outdoor work, or hygiene.
Jaysus…I hope someone makes a mod soon.

Played a bit more, and so far liking it. I didn't notice effects to be extreme (maybe I didn't receive real beating just yet). First of all I think it adds a lot to NPCs - whenever it's their icon when looting, or talking to them, they feel like they belong in the surrounding far more. So far what I have seen on my characters was minor and appropriate - it made them belong to the enviroment. I also notice that the dirt does translate at least into some clothing - for example tomb raiders had splashes of dirt on their clothing. I did notice that sorcerer's tunic is indeed clean all the time - perhaps the system hasn't been added to that particular item yet? EDIT: Logged backed in and notice Laelz was quite bloodied. Armor is bloodied as well - there were better shots with blood more visible on the armor during the conversation, but I found it tricky to capture. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/U7nISOn.png) I think it's very nice. What doesn't quite click, is that Laelz looks like she took a beating - while it was the other way around. Perhaps blood from enemies/your blood should be slightly different?

Ok, if it's just that they missed a few items I'm all for it. But I still would like a toggle option. Because I'm a sorceress, not some 3rd class novice that barely learned to control my first cantrip(yeah I know, wild magic etc etc...shush) and we simply don't get our hands and especially not our face dirty. We have peasants and barbarians for that kind of work :P

It's definitely a work in progress, no question, but it's got serious potential.
After the gobbo fight at the gate, when eavesdropping on Aradin and Zevlor, Aradin was pretty squeaky clean while my party looked like we'd just crawled out of a sewer pipe. We'd rested immediately prior the fight, while according to the narrative, Aradin clearly hadn't.
There's work to be done on it, for sure, but I think it's got a lot of potential.

That's nice, I hope they continue to evolve the idea and apply to environments.

Needs a toggle function yes. If people like it, fine, but to me it makes the game look less realistic in the current form.
It only affects the group People wouldn’t get that dirty by just running around The game doesn’t provide a feeling that a long period of time passed otherwise, so it’s looks like our party just loves to put our faces in mud. You’d at least wash your face, there is ample water everywhere Everyone else is sparkly clean but doesn’t comment on your appearance
Please provide a toggle function so people can decide if they want to add it or not.

I'm not at all a fan of DoS but the more I play, the more I like this new feature.
It really help to ground the characters in their adventure even if it's there's a bit too much mud in your face after a few hours travelling.
It also give "a sense" of time passing, which is nice considering one of the biggest issue of the game : the lack of D/N cycle.

Not enjoying the new feature at all, although it might have looked less ghastly if my character's face didn't have sorc scales, in addition to the blood, dirt, and bruising. Toned down, with the removal of blood and grime when you walk through water, however, it might not be so bad. As is, Larian appears to be telling me to long rest more frequently.

I like the addition but there should be a toggle for it, also the clothes should get dirty as well. I would expect a melee character to be gore splattered but a ranged one not so much. Also we should be able to wash up with water from our inventory or go to a lake or something, adding the Prestidigitation spell would help too. As is, Larian appears to be telling me to long rest more frequently. This is a a problem. They are already forcing anyone who wants to talk to the companions to pretend to be lazy and weak and long rest after every small event. Adding the dirt makes it even worse for characters who prefer to be clean. Adding several ways to clean up anywhere would fix at least that part.
