Thats actually the one weakness Larian currently has, was the same with D:OS2.
Absolutely amazing, stunning game which redefined the genre and set a new benchmark, but the UI/UX was suboptimal there as well.
The unholy micromanagement triad of inventory management, looting and shopping was really a flow killer and caused many of us big headaches (in act 2 of D:OS2 every level up meant: 30-40 minutes of running around buying equipment with a very basic and poor in features user interface), which is why I'm so vocal about requesting a total redesign for Divinity Engine 4.0 (which is what BG3 uses).
