Larian, you are ignoring reason and logic here. Please fix the statues. They are the most annoying traps in the game. Again. Stealth? Really? No puzzle, no logical way to disarm. Just sneak like every sane enemy would, and you get by the druid's defenses.

And some random hobo human dead guy has the key to unlock the druid's chest???

Wouldn't the reason to build magical traps be exactly to NOT be fooled by basic sneaking?

Oh sneaking is the "solution" for those traps? I usually just destroy them with literally whatever.

I like the idea of the statues, but not the implementation.

1. Arrows probably wouldn't hurt stone statues, but
2. Assuming they did... the statues have too many hit points. It's incredibly boring shooting them one arrow at a time for so long.

If these are statues protecting the druids, then maybe there's a special druidic way of passing by the statues? Like wearing the circlet or some such.

Exactly my point, along with the whole "stealth is exactly what the statues should be protecting against" thing. I mean, what enemy who finds a secret passage is going to go traipsing through? No. They're going to be sneaking their way in. So what's the freaking point of the statues other than to be incredibly annoying to the player?

And yes, arrows should not kill them. That's absolutely insanely stupid. I could shoot arrows and crossbow bolts at a stone statue all day and at best chip it. I would never be able to destroy it in a massive explosion of boulders that land on top of the goblins and they just don't even respond. It's stupid.

I love the idea. The statues are cold and dark. They are receded into the wall so people won't even know they're there. As you get close, they light up and shoot you. Awesome concept! However, there should be a puzzle, at the very least, to disable them, or a skill check. Or, like you mentioned, the circlet of nature needs to be worn by at least one member of the party. The last idea makes the most sense. You can't even access those tunnels unless you acquire a Circlet of Nature from somewhere. Maybe you need to acquire it from the Heart of the Grove where a careless druid has left it sitting on a bench or table. Maybe you have to acquire it from Nettie or Rath because you agreed to help save Halsin and thus proved to them that you are a friend of the druids. If you are a druid character, maybe one of the druids just gives you one to welcome you as one of their own.

Whatever it is, they need to fix the statue traps. They are super incredibly annoying, and I had to reload at one point, even still, after 500+ hours of gameplay, because I thought I'd finally slipped past one, not wanting to destroy it because it's annoying, and it shot Lae'zel and killed her. Then, for some reason, the game kept me on Lae'zel as opposed to other characters, and it continued to pummel my entire party as they all stupidly scrambled around Lae'zel and died. Frustrating as heck and had to do the whole dang secret tunnels all over again just because I didn't want to sit there and annoyingly shoot them with arrows.

I haven't tried it, but maybe the Silence spell would work on the statues?
Also, I'm not sure if there is one already there or not, but they should add a Perception check to point out the statues several steps before they activate.

I just give everybody a ranged weapon, and F1 *click* F2 *click* F3 *click* F4 *click* as fast as I can, and they go down pretty quickly.

+1 to all the notes above

One would hope, but seeing the number of players in most games nowadays that want to rush everywhere without taking the time to scout an area, I have a feeling enemies are "supposed" to do the same thing or developers are afraid those impatient players will cry about it being unfair.

I agree with you about arrows shouldn't hurt them, explosives, bludgeoning, and force damage for sure should and maybe fire or lightning on specifically the eyes. Anyone wearing the circlet shouldn't be a target at all.

Then there's the fact that every time there are traps or other hazards the horrible UI and control scheme somehow make a mess of things.

The most common scenario being: you scout with a stealthed character which the other ones don't follow. Then you cast Guidance or something, stealth breaks and everyone suddenly comes rushing in triggering traps, combat or chain reaction hazards left and right. RELOAD. I can't begin to express my frustration with this. Even after 200 hours in the game it's so easy to forget when the dumb auto-follow kicks in. It's just a really bad system. The control scheme alone makes all traps super annoying to deal with even if all traps wouldn't be as stupid as the stone statues.

Amen to that
