Hello!

So I've been playing BG3 on High graphics since Patch 5 with few problems, so I was confident that my computer would be OK to handle Patch 6. I finally started my descent into the new area for Patch 6 and no matter what I do the same thing happens, on multiple profiles: I finish the dialogue on the boats--doesn't matter which options I choose--I get to the new area and my screen is completely black. Completely black, but my BG3 curser is still active, and if I move my mouse around it will change from the gauntlet to the dialogue box on where I assume an NPC is supposed to be, and there is an ambient sound like entering a new space, but the screen itself remains black. If I try to pull up the Equipment tab I hear the noise and my curser will float around as if the page has indeed activated, but the screen is still black. So in effect it is technically loading the new area, but refuses to actually show me the new area.

My first thought is that it might be a graphics issue or a memory issue, but changing my settings should have worked if graphics was the culprit, right? But it won't even load on Low. I've tried dialing back the graphics, I've tried verifying my cache -- but I still can't get the new area to load properly! If the info helps at all, on the first character I tried it on I was using a few mods. Just face & armor mods, no race, stat, class, or spell mods. I've tried it on a fresh, no mods profile too after verifying my cache and after hours of trying to reach the new area the problem persists :C

Any help would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks y'all.

Is there a resolution that was provided for this? I am actually having the same issue. If a resolution was provided, please advise!

Hey, just saw this post while looking for anything about the problem I am facing, and I had a similair issue, but with the Underdark area as a whole. My issue started with my character being unable to move, but still visible, jumping and doing anything would not work, and the prompt would say that the character would be too far away, or out of reach. When I tried to go anywhere else (camp as well) the map would look like parchment, if visible, and I would have the same issue as you said (black screen but cursor, and some sounds, still working). What I did to fix this for myself was to verify the game files. The game then downloaded 1 GB and a little more of something, and the issue was no more from then on.

Not sure if it is the same issue, but I hope this helps in any way, best of things! :3
