Ok let's break down the homebrew that contributes to breaking the game.
- Double surprise rounds. You get another surprise round after your initial surprise attack, which should be your surprise round.
- Void Bulbs and many other Larian surfaces etc. don't allow for a Saving Throw even though they should in D&D. (I think I read somewhere they changed that but I guess not.)
- Minor Illusion is super interesting for enemies and they all need to go touch it. Smart enemies don't disbelieve it with a Saving Throw, there is no Perception check to figure out it's fake, they could send one to investigate, or shoot an arrow at it but no.. they all need to go touch it without exception. I mean it's a fun spell and hats off to Larian for adding it, but it's stupidly OP to always be able to gather the mobs before surprise AoE'ing them.
- AoE Lightning and Cold vulnerability for double damage with just water is hilariously OP. (Could be a Saving Throw penalty instead.)
- Not enforcing the limit of only one leveled spell per turn. This will get exponentially worse with 3rd level spells and above. Lightning Vulnerability + X "Surprise Quickened Lightning Bolts" for a million D6 will end everything before it begins. This is by far the worst offender.
- Haste and Invisibility potions everywhere
- Cloud of Daggers deals double damage on first round
- Stealth is generally broken and OP as hell
Great job by Sin Tee by the way. Larian should pay attention.
