I mean Lae'zel is bae and the uh... procedure seemed very mammal like but uhhh... where do the eggs come from? Do I need to build a nest for Lae'zel? How many shiny things must I gather?

This is actualy interesting question ...
Especialy concidering last datamining video from Chubblot, where he find Githyanki egg model and ...
It was aproximately thrice as big as Lae'zel head. O_o
I mean in no biology expert, but as far as i know eggs usualy dont grow futher once laid, they come out as big as the final "creature" will be when it hatch. laugh

Concidering their size ... i would expect Lae'zel to have some cross scar on her belly, just like Jaffa had in Stargate. laugh
Since i cant imagine something so huge would go out through any natural hole. O_o

Well the eggs are bigger than a beer fridge I would expect githyanki mothers are given mobility scooters after laying them. I mean the astral plane is definately wheelchair accessable. Maybe they grow new legs afterwards like a gekko? Maybe the mothers just explode leaving a few eggs behind? I would like to be in the room for the reaction when these mother are told they are carrying eggs.

But yeah it would be interesting finding out the birds and the bees....Or the frogs and the spawn in this case.

Nature is amazing.

So is it safe to say Lae'zel has egg bearing hips?

Exactly!
Notice this animal have few things humanoids dont .. for one there is tail, since our backbone ends inside hip bone ... for two and that is much more important it have hole big enough in that hip bone so egg can het through (even tho in this case it seems more kike it goes around)

They also appear to have evolved past the need for internal organs

Gith eggs?! The old Fiend Folio says the Gith were originally a race of evil humans conquered by the Mind Flayers for use either as slaves or fine dining entrees. I guess it is reasonable to assume that through repeated exposures to RNA/DNA alterations, the Gith would over time start losing some of their human appearances. But a fundamental change from human to monotreme is quite remarkable! I suppose the Gith could have been originally from Australia, where this phenomenon has occurred before. Once again I walk with Leira in the mists of unknowing,

I know I was having fun and posted the xray of the kiwi bird before...

But the only real way it would work was if the Gith conception to egg-birth time was relatively short, and if the eggs were soft shelled and stretched, which would allow for both the egg to make it through the pelvis, and the infant to grow inside and eventually reach a larger size.

It's the same issue with the yuan-ti, who also lay eggs, but they are snake-people and most likely lay soft-shelled eggs like snakes.

There is no way in hell she would be able to get this out without harming herself. laugh
Im not even sure soft shell would help here. laugh They simply need to be reduced to at least half size. :-/

Gith have pretty deep knowledge. Maybe they are mammalian in how they give birth, but their females do not have time for gestation. So, the zygote is removed from the female soon after conception and is placed in an egg shaped fertilization chamber (with an environment made to replicate a gith womb).

Perhaps the process also gives them some sense of familiarity with their dragons because they are eventually “hatched” in a fashion similar to their mounts.

Whaddya think? Better than imagining Lazeal with a cloaca or a hyper flexible pelvis, at any rate ! Lol
