French fries can kill you?? Noooo!!
Although, there a lot of French *have* been dying lately... 35°C/98°F isn't exactly that murderous (well, I know it can be in tightly packed cities like Paris, but still). With over 3000 people dying, the truth may finally be coming up: French fries are killing the French!

Yes... I was thinking that could've happened. I was just talking to MDE about that and I asked if they do realize that they need to drink lots of water when it is hot, ja? Although, alcoholic drinks tend to dehydrate more than hydrate anyone.
I live here in the Los Angeles area close to the desert... our average summer temperatures are about 100. We do have very few people die but, most of them are freaky situations.. Some are very old people who just couldn't handle the heat the very well.
And... I haven't tried Belgian fries. I heard many great things about it! Maybe someday, eh?

In fact, some potatoes do have a green thingy in them that taste like gasoline and I was told that it was a poison and too much of that was fatal. And Morbo, you always whine in it does not kill you. Too much wine may get you drunk or sick at worst but I did not hear of death cases unless it was drowning in a barrel of wine.

We have frieshops all over the place, I know 5 on walking distance: no more tha 5 minutes walking ^^ The snackbar/frieshops here are respectively at the following distances: - 4 houses away - at the end of the street (about a 5 minute walk) - 2 streets away (about 100m away from the 2nd one) - 2 streets away (in the other direction, about a 5 minute walk as well) So that's 4 spots nearby, not even including any restaurants or so. Oh, and this is also just Eeklo, not even that big of a town (20000 inhabitants)

French fries comes from the verb "to french" or to slice. It's not a refference to France

You should have left them a little bit more in the dark to read more fantastic history of the French Potatoes. So French is a verb. Hmmm ..... ____ ____ ........____........

Pitta
\Pit"ta\ (p[i^]t"t[.a]), n. (Zo["o]l.) Any one of a large group of bright-colored clamatorial birds belonging to Pitta, and allied genera of the family Pittid[ae]. Most of the species are varied with three or more colors, such as blue, green, crimson, yellow, purple, and black. They are called also ground thrushes, and Old World ant thrushes; but they are not related to the true thrushes
I really hope you mean Pita
