Since we invent things for french fries... in Greece we love them when we put oregano on them combined with salt. Maybe you will want to try it sometime

Seriously? But these two ingredients don't go together!
At least... not over here in Belgium

ps: We invented the fries, not the French

Just try it. Put some salt and a little bit of oregano. It is really nice. We do it all the time. Especially in the shops that sell the famous souvlaki No sause at all. Just the spices.

And why do they call them French?

in english: to french -> to slice food in the lenght of its body. So Frenched and Fried patotos became French Fries in the UK.

Thats odd since when the whole "freedom fries" (still find this incredible stupid) ordeal the french answered. Well Actually french fries are from belgium.

Barta don't fall in the trap that belgium doesn't exist (see coupple of posts ago) We do exist and the fries are ours

also good is fries and soft serve ice cream (like what dairy queen has). it's the whole sweet/salty thing. like chocolate covered pretzels. it just works.
