About that "may I see your license, please" - thing : Here in Germany it is an insult to call a policeman a "bull". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> But nevertheless it's common slang, so to say. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> But anyway, a punishment for this inslt can be quite expensive ( up to several hundred Euro).

I once read about a policeman being called a "Schlumpf". That's the German word for "Smurf", and he considered it an insult. Punishment : Several hundred D-Marks ( it was a few years ago).
