I have just finished the Easter Egg area for the Larian armor and thought the area was very good, not to mention funny! In fact I even took the organ from the sound department to decorate my house.

My question is though, what is the significance of the requirements (2002 gold and 5 wine bottles)? Were those amounts just random or do they have meaning? And did Larian put something in the game to tip the player off to this and I missed this? Its just that it seems to be impossible to figure out without someone telling you.

my guess for the 2002 gold is that was released in 2002.

You shoudn't be able to find the easer egg area witout help from the developer.Thats why A presice amount of money and bottles is needed so you don't stumble on accidently ,but really want to see

Yeah, I understand that you shouldn't be able to just stumble into the area, but some easter eggs will at least give you a partial idea of how to do it.

Like the Big Metal Unit in Baulder's Gate. The smith tells you he makes it, but not what you need.

I'm still working towards the Easter Egg area, but I remember that Rimmer gives you exactly five bottles of Ale. I'm sure the gold is for the 2002 release. I'll keep an eye out for any clues that might tell you what you need.

How did we find out how to get there in the first place?

AFAIK, one of the Larians posted the instructions in the previous forum.

I did not have the honor of reading the previous Larian post about the true meaning behind that Easter Egg. Besides what was just said. Maybe one of our kind Larians will repost... Lynn? Marian? I think that would be really cool.

I just thought of a clue. The silver breastplate has that long name saying it "could be made into something special".

Doesn't tell you the amounts needed, but tells you the breastplate is used for something.

Thanks, but I already have changed it. My post is about clues in game that point to the easter egg, not how to do it.
