Spick, this works for me:
Blow gently on its nose as soon as the pill in the mouth (as deep as you can). Blowing on the nose tip starts a licking reflex, if you down jam down the jaws too hard.

Thanks for the advice Kiya, i'll give it a go at next weeks attempt, I'll inform you how i get on.

errh, was in a hurry, Spick, sorry (and my eyes were halfclosed): ... if you don't jam down the jaws too hard.

I feel for you - medicine is a dangerous bomb area. We have a sort of paste here against worms - or do you mean pills against tapeworms? Ugh, they're really dreadful to give. From one gladiator to another: Morituri te salutant = those who will die greet you

Yay for Litha! He jumped on the roof and caught himself a nice fat sparrow. I like it when cats are cats.

Those cat pics are so good!

I saw Gwen last night. She looks so strange. She's shedding for Spring/Summer. All her long hair is now short.

I saw a docu. "the hidden life of cats".
And researchers there claimed a bell doesn't make much difference. They still catch the same amount of creatures.
Maybe a little different creatures, but still the same amount.

*edit*
@Actually, spick, that research happened in the UK.
They also had a couple 1,000 ppl (volunteers) filling in forms about what kind of creatures the cats brought home and how many of them. Maybe you heared of it?
They think that there are about 7,000,000 cats in the UK now.

Collars: Was a problem for my cats, their fur broke and one of mine developed an allergy though I used several brands. They lost them very quickly. So in the summer months I use a liquid that is put on the neck, there where they can't reach it. Helps only against fleas, not ticks.

Bell collars: They can make a cat crazy, constant tingling is a pain for their sensitive ears. I don't use them.
Addition: If they have no elastic part cats can strangle themselves.

Flea collars don't work, what works, is those fluids where you have to do2-3 drops a day in the cats neck, and 1 once a week every room yer cat inhabits you be treated with a anti-flea gascan product or sprayer.

Well cagney and Lacey have always worn flea collars which i change every 4 months or so according to the manufacturers instuctions, they are elasticated and in eleven years only 1 has come off.
Did you know that only one quarter of a fleas life is spent on your cat
In the UK we can only get the liquid from a Vet, and so this makes it very expensive.

Same here in Germany, Spick. If I want this liquid, I go to the vet.

Yep the advantage is the way to go. They do sell it in the stores here, but it is cheaper at my vet. She is a country doctor. Still makes house calls!
