Note: Naked Empire comes out July 21st in the US and Agust 4th in UK markets. The following are some basics thoughts on the book. There are no spoilers. I will post an actual review of the book when it is actually released. (Yes I have read the book)


Well first off. If you hated the goat so much you can not stand to read another word about her, then do not read this book.

Now with that out of the way.

This book picks up where POC left of. Richard, Kahlan, Cara, Jennsen, Tom, Betty and Freidrick are the main focus of the book. Terry does spend a few chapters here and there on other characters, but they are usually 2 or 3 at a time. SO this will end peoples worry about if Richard and Kahlan play a big role.

I will say I like the book a lot. It had everything I wanted and more. I will warn people about one thing. If you hated FOTF and thought it was too preachy, you may not like some of the character dialogue in this book.

There is enough action, emotion, and humor in this book to make it up to the people who do not like that dialogue, but I wanted to give people a fair warning. (note: I did not find it too preachy, but I have run this place long enough to know what people will say)

This book answers a few questions and encompasses some former plot lines. IT also raises some new question (Terry insists on doing that to me! He puts things in the books just so I can get thousands of e-mails asking about them!)

All in all I loved the book. Took me a little bit to get into it because as in all the books, Terry does fill in some background so if a person picks this up as a first book, they will be able to follow it. Once I got into it, I did not want to stop. I forced myself to take breaks as to slowly enjoy it all. I feel that most of Terry's fans will like this one. people who disliked POC because it was to different from the rest will fell more at home with NE.
