Can someone teach me how to edit my savegame files (data.000 or items.000) using hex editor? I heard that gold can be tricked with hex-editing And some sites (I forgot the addresses ) said that skills, resistances, even offense and defense stats can be tricked too. No wait, this isn't April's Fool, 'cuz this is August (or September, if you read my post a few weeks later ). But I know nothing about it. Guys I need your replies about this stuff!

To copy an item; quick save the game, then drag an item out of your inventory, but not somewhere there is a red X. Without dropping first, quick load the game, then release the mouse button when it starts to load. This will produce a copy of the item on the ground, with the original still in your inventory.

There is a much easier method for items which can be stacked (such as gold);
Drag a stack out of (or into) your inventory (or container) and hold down the control key before dropping. This will bring up the split stack pane; type in a negative number and hit enter (the checkmark will be greyed out). This can also be done in the trade window.

For your primary stats, experience and skills (ie data.000) you can use iZakaroN's SaveEditor.
Secondary stats can not be edited directly, but depend on the primary stats.

For item editing (items.000) check out DAD's item editor.

If you really want to poke around with a hex editor, this topic contains more information on item editing;
please help with my blind hero

I have seen ArtMoney (a memory editor) recommended for cheating, but have not tried it myself.

Dear Raze the old website was very pesky with adds, that is why I changed it.
You can download the editor from http://www.eonet.ne.jp/~hemetis/ now

"How did you know that much??? Is there anything else I could learn from you??? Are you God of Hex???"

By reading the majority of posts here for awhile, and keeping links to anything that looks really useful (or anything I have to search for a few times) in a text file for handy cut-and-pasting.
Probably.

No, that would likely be Barnabus.

DAD; Thanks, I've updated my link, so any future posts will point to the new page.
