I have tried to install the patch only to be given a screen saying "No Installation Found" "You have to install Divine Divinity version first before installing Divine Divinity - English Patch V1.0"

Do you have all rights?? Also do you have any patch, hack, crack (like no-cd crack) installed?
Make sure that all anti-virus and firewalls are disabled. They sometimes are the cause of problems.
This could also be a regestry problem.
