Dear Lynn and Rat,
Could you please, pretty please, change the colour of the new-posts indicator?

New posts [Linked Image]

No new posts [Linked Image]

Green New posts for easy identification. [Linked Image]

Yes, the white and yellow blend strongly when our eyes get tired after hours at the desktop.
I know that green colour carries more identity signals than any other colour that is why I suggested it for new posts’ indicator.

It would be also much better if the NO new posts lamp was dimmed.

Don't understand what you meant with easy identification.

Red usually implies a warning or a stop light.
That is why I did not suggest it even though it is quite identifiable.

I never had a problem with yellow/white.
But I understand where you're comming from.
Nice idea...

Green looks better than I thought it would, but it kind of clashes with the colour scheme.
The no-new-posts icon on the left is RGB 244/244/244, rather than white; could be a little darker, but I think dark grey is a bit too dark.

Don't bother posting a red bulb, or anything; I'll do all the work.
My artistic abilities starting from scratch are close to nil (I briefly tried colouring the green bulb.... ), but fortunately I remembered a graphics program I have has a colourize function. I didn't tweak it enough for it to turn out great, but this will give you an idea;

Any clearly distinguishable colours would do for me.
My problem is that after long hours of gazing at the screen I cannot tell white from yellow.
It is really that simple.
