i have a brand new pc what could be the problem im thinking the new g-force? anyone know how to fix it?

Did you check the readme file, Larian's Technical Support FAQ or the tips in Troubleshooting and Manual Install Procedure?

did everything it said to do... doesnt crash randomly but it crashes 100% of the time if i walk near the black smith in that merchant area
its like when ever it will be wanting to show the blacksmith it will just end

Try starting a new game, then save and use iZakaroN's SaveEditor to bump up the character's constitution, then run to Ars Magicana and see if the same problem occurs.

Have you met Tingalf, the black market dealer, yet? He approaches in a cut scene around that area (he approached me just east of the Ars teleporter pad).
Maybe one of the graphics or sound effects used there became corrupt? Did you try the file verification method mentioned in the troubleshooting/manual install post?

yeah i met him ill try out the verification method
i uninstalled and reinstalled so that should fix it right?
or should i try to manualy install?

Try a new game; that will narrow down if it is a problem with Divinity or the saved game itself.

Uninstalling and re-installing should usually fix corrupt file problems. It is not inconceivable that your optical drive could have a problem extracting certain files, but no error is produced during the install, though it is a long shot.

Did you try running the configuration program and switching to software mode, lowering the resolution, turning down/off hardware sound acceleration, etc?

Can you hold the shift key down and move the screen focus over that area? I can't recall anything unique there (besides the forge/smith graphics and sound effects) so I don't know what could be causing a problem/conflict.

hasn't this happened to many people? or wait, the patch fixed it for them

this may not be directly linked, but I wanted one on the front page so it stood a chance of being seen. Does anyone know where I can get a patch that works? I got the version 1.33 pach, but when I insatlled it it said installin version 1.0. I then looked at the patc log, and it said version 1.0. Can someone give me a version 1,33 that actually works?

P.S. I got all the patches, and this problem happened for all of them.
P.P.S. I downloaded from larian,locusinn, the avualtfragland mirrior, and games domain, all unsucessful.

The patch from the Larian site should work. Are you sure that you´ve downloaded it from there?

The patch converts your game to version 1.34 which is the latest. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

but he talked off patch .33 so I was confused <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />

I am also confused...

But what I know is that the patch from the Larian Homepage works... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

it may not have worked because it was the wrong patch number?
and I got mine from Larian and it was good, but I had no problems, cept I couldn't get the magic lockpicks or kill Maria or pay to get in the guild.

p.s.

to Larian, I hate the new double spaced ones in the new patch, sorry, but it makes them harder to see them all.

I did not get any double spaced dialogs after installing the patch. Maybe a glitch on your system? Did you try a clean install + patch?

The patch is referred to as v1.34 on the web site, though the install program calls it 1.0 (it is the first version of the patch... well, a minor update to 1.33, anyway). This corresponds to the game version 1.0034a (in the bottom right corner of the main menu).

You could have posted a new topic; new topics and new posts in existing topics show up in a different colour, so they are easy to spot.
