Is it just me, or is the music in DD some of the most atmospheric you've come across??? I find myself humming some of the tunes away from the PC (a first)...either a sign they are memorable, or my prescription needs renewing....

my guess is both. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

which is why i suggested EAX(oh no, not again, say some members) for quasi-cinematic arual experience for RRR. kirill is next to howard shore who is next to john williams. & also next to joe hisaishi.

Some game music has absolutely classical qualities. It's at least 'evergreen'-material. I'm still humming tunes from Lands of Lore 3.
One melody that had me smiling in this game, is one they occationally play at the Dwarwen Bread Inn.
It goes something like 'Dam dadi dam dadi dam...' (sung by a mixed choir)
-It really lifted my spirits, and made me go back to the Inn for more <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

An absolutely classic is for the the "Wahooka Song" in Stonekeep. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> If only there was a way to extract it ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I very often went to the Fairies place just to listen to that song ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

Guess I was reading too fast. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
You should be able to record anything you can hear, though it would not be quite as good quality as extracting it digitally.

Well I guess so.

I think it would work, but I haven't made up my mind on how exactly too do that.

I would take the plug and a cable from the Soundcard's output into the input, and then some recordiong programme ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Mp3Works is a very customizeable program and would be perfect for the job.....

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> .........just a sec....

here we go a free version too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ...... Mp3Workshop.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

that's funny you mention about the sound thing....i had to go down
to the radio shack and buy a splitter for the output from the comp
and two seperate stereo outs....
after about half hour of trying this combo and that...( they either had one of
these or only one of those......it was a mite confusin'... adapters for this, wires for that.... anyway it was funny, the old lady at the store was in a tizzy about running around the whole store trying to help me out..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />
we ended up with a stereo headphone adapter connected to 2 6ft stereo jacks...
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ......oh well <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" /> at least it works.

so i'm not <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" />

and it's funny too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

The recorder craplet that came with my sound card has an option to record 'what you hear' without needing to connect the headphone or line out jack to the line in jack. You might want to check for something similar on your system, if you haven't already.

craplet = crap + applet
This is a small, limited function program / application, most commonly a useless Java applet, but in this case I was referring to a stand alone program with limited functions that likes to crash.

I see. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> I haven't heard this term so far, but now I see some sort of sense in it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />
