I played both, including the NWN addon and agree to your opinion, specially about the combat differences.
Just one thing though: I'd really keep a few extra saves and not only depend on quicksaves if I were you. Specially just before the Divine Ritual <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
