Check out the
Riftrunner FAQ and interviews; Larian has already addressed most of your points. I don't know how many voices there will be, besides male/female... you can play as a child, though, so that implies an additional couple voices. If the character does not say much there may be lots of choices; if it does, there would be less. Hopefully Riftrunner's publisher will be more supportive when it comes to developing patches, not to mention promotion.
