I killed all the wasps but did not see a key either for the house or for a golden jug right by the steps that lead to the house. Besides me there are 4 bees but none of them can interact with me. I don't know if I am stuck and have no solution. I have walked all over pressing the alt key but not once was a key highlighted so it can't be anywhere on the ground. I have tried lockpick and failed both for the house and for the golden jug. I have also tried breaking the jug but nothing happens if I try to hit it. Has anyone been in my situation? Did I just mess up and lose my game? I killed the wasps myself plus summoned a dreadknight and some skeletons. After they killed wasps whatever they dropped (keys) I picked up. I also killed the monster (Lich?) that appears when you open the jug to the left of the door of the house but I still did not get a key. Can someone out there help?

Usually the Bee Queen should appear and give you the key shortly after you´ve Killed Ragon the (mage) wasp.

Which version do you play (installed any patches?)

Thanks for your reply. I did not see the queen bee after I killed all the wasps. I assume I killed Ragon because there are no wasps anywhere in sight. I do not know which version I have. Where do I look? I did not see a version on the cd or the manual. I have not downloaded any patches. Am I supposed to?

are you sure you have killed ALL of the bees...you should end up in front of this house like structure that is front of a big pond.

If you don´t see any version you are playing with the release version. and yes you definitely should install patches. There are two which you can take from the Larian Homepage.

The release Version unfortunately is full of bugs

Most probably your problem is a bug, but I don´t know exactely. - anyway the release version has so many bugs that patches are important.

another bad thing for you is that after you installed the patches youre savegames can´t be used any more. Sorry to provide only bad news here, but it´s the truth.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Here's the patch. Ragon is to the northeast of the imp world right after you pass the second gate on this map:

Thanks.

Thanks for the patch. I have downloaded it. I have found everything you put on the map except the key to the house. I don't know if now that I have the patch something will change or if I just lost my game but in any case, I will get back to the game and see what happens. Also, there were many times that I did not use the skill points I was awarded because I read you could use them later if you saved them but I have not found a way to use them nor found a place they could be saved. Have I lost them? Thanks for your help (to all who have responded).

Sorry for providing wrong informations here, but for the german version which I play there are two patches.

Do your savegames work after installing the patch? Because after installing the german version patches they can´t be used anymore.

Hi,

If you can't find the key to the imps' house, click this link:

LOST ITEMS-Guide and Directory of Inventory Files (by Raze)

Thanks.

Hi,

Downloading the latest patch will not change your previous saved games if they were played without a patch. Your new patch will start taking effect once you start a new game.

Thanks.

Did you run the patch after you downloaded it? Under Windows XP it must be installed from an account with administrative privileges.

Some of the story fixes in the patch are not retroactive, but the technical fixes will help (the patch gives you 2 (by default) quick saves and has other improvements, even without starting a new game).

Do you have a recent save you can reload? Once you got close to the house there should have been two cut scene conversations, one with the mage/wasp and one with the queen bee. If not, check out the 'lost items' post for the key.

After I downloaded the patch I opened it with WinZip and then put those files into my current saved game folder. As far as where I was in the game, the queen bee and the mage/wasp did appear and talk to me, I chose to help the bees, I killed all the wasps and the lich that was right next to the door of the house but after all the wasps were killed the queen bee did not appear to congratulate me or anything and there are 4 bees where I am that I can't interact with. I have one golden key in my inventory but it has not worked for opening a golden jug (the only one I have left that says locked) nor to open the house. I have roamed the entire area pressing alt but nothing is highlighted (I thought the key might be on the floor). I have an earlier saved game but even if I played that (and it would take me 10 days of playing to get to where I am now) I may have the same exact problem. Is what I did with the patch correct? Shoud I download anymore patches? Should I just start a new game? Should I buy another version? This was the only one I saw at BestBuy where I bought it. Also, is Divine II out already? Have I played enough of the game that I won't miss that much if I stop playing now and just play Divine II or Riftrunner? I am new to the game so please forgive questions that might seem basic / obvious.

You didn't really have to unzip the patch. Downloading the patch would have been enough for it to take effect.

There is one golden jug within the imp world that cannot be opened. Just making sure, when you say you killed all the wasps, did you also kill a friendly one? There is a friendly wasp that needs to be killed if you are to get a key that opens one of the jugs.

You don't need to download anymore patches. Also, you're pretty far into the game. Hang in there and you'll finish. You may need to download the inventory files for the imp house key if you can't get it through the cut scene. If you don't get the key, you won't be able to finish the game. Also, there aren't any other versions for Divinity. Divinity 2 will be released in a year or two. You won't miss that much. I think those games are self-inclusive. If you haven't played Divinity, it would still be possible for you to play Riftrunner and Divinity 2 skillfully.

Thanks.

Hi Ursula. Well, I believe I killed all the wasps as there are none left and I have roamed the entire area. When I killed the wasps I used the help of skeletons and dreadknights and as any items any of the wasps they killed would have been on the floor I scanned the entire area using the alt key. Just to recap, I was teleported to the first level and then from there to the second level after I touched a jug. In the second level I managed to kill all the wasps and from there all that is left are 4 neutral bees. If I did not manage to kill all the wasps in the first level because I got teleported too quickly is there any way I can go back to that level? I appeared in the pond area but I have not found any area where there is a portal to go back nor have I been able to touch any item (statue, etc.) that would do that either. In summary, if I can't go anywhere and can't go back to see if I killed all the wasps on the first screen of the magic world then the game is lost. Right?

Also, I did download the inventory files from a link someone put in this thread and then I opened them with WinZip and I place them in the savegame folder of my computer but nothing happened when I went back (my inventory was identical). Am I doing something wrong?

Ummm... If you don't install the patch, how can it take effect?

The key for the big doors is given to you by the Bee Queen. Try just clicking on the door and see if it opens (despite it saying [color:"red"]Locked[/color]). I never found a key for the last gold jug either, and I had one gold key spare.

Also, is Divine II out already?

RiftRunner is due out in the next few months. Divine Divinity 2 won't be out until the end of next year.

Welcome and enjoy!

Walk through the gate! It unlocks after you are teleported.

I am confused. How do I install the patch then? I thought dowloading it and opening it with winzip was enough. I am not that technically savvy so forgive if this sounds retarded to you. As far as the magic world, I am in the scene where the jugs are and also the imp house. I already went through the gate, killed all the wasps there, walked up the steps to the house and tried opening the doors both with the key I have in inventory and with lockpick level 5 and none worked.

Then you don't have the key. Try walking around with CTRL pressed (not ALT) and see if any valid targets appear. There may be a wasp trapped behind something.

Ok when you have downloaded the patch just click on the symbol of the patch at the place where you have put it on your computer. You do not need winzip at all for this.

Afterwards an install manager should pop up. Just follow the instructions.

BTW: Do you have a savegame before entering the imp world? If yes try to replay from this point.

The patch is an executable file, so you just have to run it after downloading.

Did you follow the procedure in the Lost Items - guide and directory of inventory files post, especially saving under a new name and backing up your original inventory files?

There are 6 keys and 6 jugs in the imp world, but almost everyone has one jug which remains locked and an extra key.

I installed the patch but nothing has changed. I pressed the ctrl and alt keys and there are no hidden targets nor any objects on the ground. I do have an earlier saved game but I will have to play 10 days in a row to get to where I am now. I am so disappointed but I may play from there anyway. I just hope I don't have more problems.

I tried following the procedures in the lost item guide but I save in the same folder (not a new one) because I did not care if I lost some items. I just wanted to get the key to the house. But again, after I opened with WinZip and saving in the saved games folder of divine divinity nothing changed once I got back to the game. I did not have a key for the house. I had the extra key that did not work to open that last jug just as you mentioned.

Raze, do you have a hex-teleport for inside the house?

"I tried following the procedures in the lost item guide but I save in the same folder (not a new one) because I did not care if I lost some items."

Even all the equipment you were wearing, and possibly quest items?
When you switch back to the game, you need to re-load in order for the change in inventory to take effect.

"But again, after I opened with WinZip and saving in the saved games folder of divine divinity nothing changed once I got back to the game."

Those files need to to be placed in the specific saved game folder, ie '..\Divine Divinity\Run\savegames\NameOfSave'.

"Raze, do you have a hex-teleport for inside the house?"

Yes, and I offered by PM to do the required hex editing if Cvmiami wanted to email me the data file.

Since the link is broken, here's how to fix this: load a save before you killed Ragon, then either land the killing blow on him or at least damage him yourself instead of using purely summons.
