@marian: maybe I played it too often...
...so know I don´t have any orientation problems at all.
Concerning the cutscenes: I can´t remeber exactely; it´s quite a time ago that I played...
The NPC´s (really, really many) who have nothing to say are there to give an extra feeling of " a real fantasy world". I liked this approach, but it is highly unusal for RPG´s. As the world is so big I think they didn´t had space and time to add something to say for them.
(as they didn´t had the time to cancel out all those bugs...

Quests in Morrowind are sometimes boring but most of the time I liked them alot.
As with <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> there are noz only hack ans slash quests but very often ones, where you have to really find out things.
But anyway, I´m afraid we won´t be able to match here.
Conclusion: Let´s talk about <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and...
...also about how badly we want to play <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />
