On request I now open a thread where I will (try to) answer any question you have concerning Morrowind. I´m a Veteran with this game and sure to be able to help in most cases.
First off all: To all people who are annoyed by endless walking:
There are the spells (divine Intervention and Almsivi Intervention) which teleport you to the nearest shrine of Almsivi respectively the imperial gods.
There are also the spells mark and recall. With these you can reach any position of the map in a second.
If you use these 4 spells correctely you can forget about endless walking.
