Normally, it is like "the X marks the treasure" ...
At least in Monkey Island this was the case !

did you get the stratedgy guide for morrowind? because i think that thats a good way to ruin a game by using a walkthrough from a guide. you wanna finish the game first without using one and only then you can cheat by using a walkthrough etc. -----
I was actually having a long discussinon with someone over this very topic the other day. After a while we both seemed to agree that if someone like me really wanted to 'experiance' a game for all it was worth, I wanted a guide to see "every" last spot, every treestump, every main or side quest. Otherwise I won't have fun. And I can proudly say, "I have never beaten a game without a walkthrough, even the demo I got help on.

the X-es stand for shipwreks. Witch usually have treasure. The x-es with a name next to it (there are 3) are stongholds for the 3 houses.

iirc they get attacked at a certain time and if you helped them, they'll talk to you.

but it is so hard to ge4t EVERY LAST thingy. I say to each his own (and to each her own) but for me I get alot more satisfaction from a game with a guide helpin' me.

I finished Morrowind several times. The first time I finished it with level 27. Later I never finished it below Level45. However I know of someone who finished the main quest with level8.
Bloodmoon and tribunal though can´t be finished below Level 35, at least this is what i believe...

You really beat the bloodmoon, remember not the quests with the ebony mine but the one with all the werewolves, with level 25? without turning the difficulty down?

well i did the ebony mine one on 25 and had loads of money so got some training in and was level 29 when i started the other main quest, so its not that good.
do you think that wood elf in mournhold who asks for money but then attacks you if you dont give him any is proper hard. he hammered me proper and i was about level 40 at the time with level 100 sword and i couldnt hit him. he just wasent letting me get a strike in. that well annoyed me and i had to load it up again and avoid him. bloody bosmer's.

The wood elf "gaenor" is something like a joke by bethesda, because many fans complained how annoying the wood elf Fargoth was. So they decided to put in a real annoying wood elf.
He is not invincible, but has a very high luck level. (So he can´t be hit on normal way). In order to kill him you need also a very high luck level. Boost it up to 1000 or so. You can do this by making quite alot of luck potions and drinking them simultaniously. Also some strenght potions could prove helpful.
Gaenor can´t be easily killed by spells as he can reflect most (all) of your spells.

its not that funny when one thinks one is good and dosent save it for a while than gets trashed by a bosmer. seriously not cool.
i think that i could have killed him because i had chosen to outfit my redgaurd in the gear he is in in the manual. the nordic ringmail cuirass, netch leather greaves, iron right pauldron and ebony longsword. i think he had an armour rating of 23 and that was with my choice of boots; boots of the apostle. so i might go and sort him out now and any other bosmer who thinks he's hard enough.
