What an awesome game, I am glad I gave it a second go and stuck with it, I was very impressed with the storm effects, rain, lighting, thunder when walking through West Gash, near Gnisis. I actually became so involved with gameplay at one stage I jumped when thunder sounded, I have an excellent sound system with my PC and well, I actually felt like I was all alone in the jungle/forest unreal. I know I am raving but this game rocks.

The only drama I am having is bearings ie, North, South, East, West. Twice I have stuffed up a sub quest due to getting lost (one being find some witch and an axe) and the other finding this widows place and deed to land. Oh I forgot to mention I am a imperial guard now (not sure if right move but will stick with it for this game)

Hi Numpty, glad you're having fun. I figured you would once you got the knack of how to play the game. Thing is, as I stated before, this game is so massive, you will come across 'new' things almost at every turn. Since I haven't played the game in a while, I can't remember how the direction works. For some reason I remember thinking the top of my monitor was always north, the bottom - south, etc. At least that's the way I remember it. There may be an actual compass that I've forgotten about.

And getting lost is easy to do and you're bound to get lost a lot. Save often if being lost is frustrating for you. That way you can always return to a place you were familiar with and try to reorient yourself from there.

Did anyone here also find that the cross hairs when fighting don't hit anything, I am hit when I am swinging left or right, some help (and I read the manual, well not all of it, something to do at work when on nightshift LOL!)

I have aimed directly at target chose attack type, ie slash, thrust etc etc but hit nothing, aim away from person hit them, you go figure that one out, got me stuffed?

The crosshairs are tricky but if you're using a ranged attack, it's function seems to work better. In the beginning of the game almost every (monster) accounter requires a melee attack. But as you progress, learn magic and add other abilities to your character, you will be using ranged attacks more often. The crosshairs work quite well then. Just be patient. Remember, your character just got off the boat and it's going to take many, many hours of gameplay to beef him/her up.

That's about all the advice I have for you (at the moment). Sounds as though you're progressing wonderfully! And I'm so glad you're having fun. Your enthusiasm has made me want to start a new game. Then again, I know how addicted I can get to it and ignore the other priorities in my life. Better wait a couple of weeks when I'll have more time to waste. *g* Enjoy!

P.S. I jumped out of my seat a couple of times when thunder crashed. LOL I turned the volume down for that reason. Too nerve-wracking.
