Also many of the questions that were brought forward remain unasked and thus unanswered.
Every question I recieved during the chat was asked and was answered, including a few of the more silly ones like the one about the
vehicles a la Half-Life 2 one and the
Riftrunning Riftrunner's Riftrun one. In fact, the only reason we stopped was because we ran out of questions because the Larian folks seemed to be interested in sticking around longer.
About the moderation: pretty chaotic at most times, having answered 2 questions at the same time.
That happens in a dev chat. One developer will say "done" when another developer isn't actually done. Nature of the beast, and all.
among those one that had been answered already by that time.
Yes, we've already flogged Exitium for that.
I think the pace would have been quicker if the moderator started accepting questions 10 or 15 minutes early, to allow time to organize them.
Taking questions in advance, I don't recall any lag time between when the questions started and when Larian was done introducing themselves.
You'll never actually get to organize the questions in one of these, though. Someone asks something about one particular thing, and it gets the rest thinking on the same subject. It's like telling someone not to think of an elephant, the first thing they'll think of is an elephant. You can take all the questions on combat, or items, or whatever, and ask those in a block, but you'll get one that was raised by the answers shortly afterwards. That afterwards can include after that block of questions has been answered.
Now, sure, we could always say for this chunk of time, we're only asking questions about orcs, so send all the orc questions. Well, what if you have an orc question after that time is over? Wait until next time? That doesn't work so well. Tends to make people unhappier than having the questions asked in the order they come in at.
It's definitely more chaotic than a straight up interview, but it's also more interactive and on the spot.
the answers were a bit too short but I think the log is edited. anyway we didn't got a lot of info out of it, hope to learn more when betatesting
None of the answers were cut, only some things like people joining and leaving, as well as a certain picture URL which shall go unposted. The answers are intact.
As for the time thing, I'll work something out with Lynn. Still, we had a pretty big turn out, and a lot got done, IMHO.
