Hey forum people,
I just recently joined the forum about 2 weeks ago...ok, not so recent. But there is one thing i DO know and that is that Baulder's Gate totally rocks...it is like the best game ever out of all games! And ever since i beat the series i've been trying to find if there are any other games like it out on the market...i couldn't find any until now...but this one game just looks too good to pass up! It's called The Temple of Elemental Evil...if there are any serious lovers of Baulder's Gate or anyone that particularly liked that type of game style i would seriously recomend this game...although i don't have this game yet...trust me if it's as good as it looks...check it out for yourself...but i do intend on getting it as soon as I can..another thing...if your big into self generation, like designing your character insideout...i heard this game is for you! You can even choose things like clothing down to hairstyles...Just thought I'd inform...

Interesting news <img src="...s/smile.gif" alt="" />. I wonder what it will give. Though I am also sure there will be a flood of fakies. We'll see soon!

It appears to be a bug-fest right now. maybe it's wiser to wait for the first patch and then buy it.

I have never had a problem with bugs until i got divine divinity. Not that it made it a bad game...Not by a long shot! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Here's a topic discussing first impressions with ToEE: http://www.mistresslair.net/phpBB2/...&postorder=asc&highlightI'm not too keen on getting it the minute it ships where I live, now that I've read some of those mini-reviews. IMO, the feedback makes the initial version of DD look bug-free and smooth.

Looks like another rushed product. WHY IN THE GOD'S NAME DID THEY CHOSE ATARI FOR PUBLISHER?!?!?!?! WHYYYYYYYYYY?!?! WHAT WAS WRONG WITH SIERRA?! I never liked Atari, on the countrary, I really dislike it as a publisher. I mean they don't even put the disks in jewel cases!

Atari is a label of Infogrames. They use it now for all games apparently as they feel it has a stronger market position or something like that. I wonder who does their market research.

Publishers publish the game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
In it's barest form, they take care of the distribution channels and marketing of the game. This includes things as taking care of magazine ads, reserving shelf space at the shops, getting distributors to assist them. Maybe even locally duplicating the game. Supporting the translation of the game etc. etc. The publisher is the responsible party for taking care that the game gets from the developer to the customer.
In it's most used form however, the publishers do the above and the following: As most developing companies are unable to financially take care of the development of the game (which costs a lot these days), they 'give' the developer the money. In return they get the game and only a small percentage of the sales price then reaches the developer. Afterall the publisher needs to earn the money back also. Publishers normally also take care of the beta testing in those cases.
I'm sure Lar can tell many tales of his experiences with the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> publisher <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />
