can any fortgeschritten help me by explaining to me (slowwwlyyy) how grammar works in german? do give me basic ones which to construct a simple sentence.

i don't want to end up like in monty python's 'something completely different' where a french dude tries to speak english by using a (mis)translation book. the result was funny (& scary in real life).

knowing words & putting them together are totally different things. so kiya, tell me what should be combined & what comes first before what & ... oh i feel faint <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />
