You made two points in one sentence and I made the mistake of doing the same. The quantity of mods is related to your statement about how limited the toolset is. If it is that limited compared to others then why are there so many mods.
As to it not running without problems. I had no issues with it.
Yeah? And did the tool come with any kind of manual? Even a leaflet of the basics? No, and no. Oh, I'm not the one suffering from lack of knowledge here, by the way. I know some basic C++, and can grope my way around the scripting tool. But what about the majority of gamers that don't, and don't care to?
Again, if it was that bad to live with, there wouldn't have been any mods.
I'm no fan of NWN. I never even bothered to buy the expansions or even still play it and I don't mind graphics much to be honest.
I even didn't finish the SP game as it got tedious, but I did enjoy several of the MP sessions I was in. For me NWN simply wasn't that bad a game as you make it out to be.
