Stolen Briefcase ? No ... I don't think so ... How do I get this info / option ? And yes, it's the union card I meant.

I've been looking at Grim Fadango ever since it's release. I think I'm going to have to get it. Any news on how it runs under XP?

Y'know, Bane, you're ignoring every other point I'm making about NWN. Like horrible AI.

Gads. This is getting really tiresome. I don't think I'm going to go at it anymore. You know the old phrase? "I hesitate to enter a battle of wits..."

Not very well, I'm afraid. Though I've heard that setting the compatibility to "Windows 98" will help. I didn't try that, though, and uninstalled it. (Besides, Windows 98 is DOS-based. WinXP isn't. So I'm skeptical.)

I could dig out the CD, install it and try it for you, if you'd like.

Thanks for that info! Only install it if you want to. It's not like I'll have the money anytime soon, despite it being budget-ware now. And I've never seen compatability mode make an iota of difference in any game.

Winterfox, thank you for taking that to PM.

Al, I think even if Charlie never told you anything about his briefcase (be it because of a bug or because he dislikes you ), I'm pretty sure you can still go look for it. Charlie doesn't give that many clues either, besides that it was Max who took it from him. Max be the cat race track owner

Winterfox, my compliments on staying a bit more civilized in that discussion But it looks like this is just a matter of taste, not much point in fighting over it. Oh well, if you like the action, have fun
About Grim Fandango in XP: I've never had any problems Then again, I barely had troubles with an unpatched , so I guess the smartest thing is to try it on your own pc and see what it does (shouldn't blow up - if it's an original copy, of course)

Really? On my machine, with WinXP, the sound plays a bit later than it should have. Well, make that a lot later. And the text, instead of being English, is in Spanish. (If you're going to ask, yes, my copy is certainly in English. I used to play it on a WinME machine, and it worked fine.)

Wow - I do hope you're not saying you never got further than Manny's first line (being "Qué es esta" or something like it )

No, all the text's in Spanish. That receptionist (?) girl, Manny's lines, etc etc.

As I said, it worked fine on another computer.

Actually, I think my biggest fear would be not having a sound card. I have an on-board sound chip, but they have very limited DOS-emulation capability. I think that's why most things don't work properly.

Hmmm, maybe it's a bonus: since you've completed the game before, you could now play it in a slightly more difficult way... Kind of like the Mega Monkey mode, but then.... slightly different

I'm having serious problems with most DOS games exactly because of that reason Not much digital nostalgy for me since I got this pc

Ummmm im not ignoring anything your the one ignoring what i say.I told you 2 times and this makes 3 that the single player i agree wasnt that good.I am talking soley the Online aspect of things.I also include the haks and mods as part of the overall quality of the game. The mods is what made Morrowind not just a good game, but a great one.

I seen on another post you commented that TOEE has nice graphics are you going to claim the graphics in that game are better then NWN??Just seems to me you hated NWN so much which isnt a big deal you like what you like, but do not put the graphics down they were pretty well done. When you hate a game as much as you hate NWN you seem to rip every part of it even if its good.

I agree the sp wasnt to good thats about all ill agree with. One last thing Dungeons siege graphics are not superior to NWN you better look again.I just loaded DS up and if anything they are very similar and equaly pleasing to look at.

Oh, please. I already bloody took this to PM. Did you not receive my message? Why do you insist on prolonging this and annoying the thread at large?

In any case, when will you get this? I like 2D pre-rendered graphics for what they are, compared to other 2D pre-rendered graphics, not compared to bloody 3D. Do you grasp this? You don't compare 2D to 3D. It's like apple and orange; one isn't worse than the other, just different.

By the way, does everyone else have the same reaction as I do when I saw this comment from Bane?

Get hooked on phonics it works!!!! You havent any clue what you are talking about. This is why very few women are in the video game industry they have no understanding of what a good game is.

I was presented a few days ago a link to a project called DOSBOX. Some say that it's quite good, but it's a typical Unix application, you have to mount a drive first because you can do anything else.

LucasArts has an explicitely list of all games running under XP in their Support section.

Are you st00pid? You can't make appelflappen with oranges, so OBVIOUSLY apples are WAY better than oranges!!! Oranges suck dude, you suck! (conclusion: you're an orange...?) Anyway, apples own.

Never mind

Oh and thanks for that link Al, I'll check it out
