Some times ago, i saw a diagram in a magazine about the rate of the price of a game for each part of the chain (developper, editor, distributors, taxes), and i have to say that the rate of the distributor seemed really abusive compared to the rate of the developper.

Do you know who is funding most of the game development? It's the publisher. They lend the money from the bank and fund the developer. They have to get that money back, plus the interest and then make a profit. That's easily a million a game they have to earn back first before they even can think about making a profit. That's why they get the biggest share.
If this was so profitable for publishers then I'm wondering why hardly any publisher makes a decent profit.
