Yes, sometimes people do say things like "yes, what he said" just to say something, like LewsTherin... But even he has calmed down a bit now that he's got such a high post count (despite having registered only two days before me, I might add).
Anyway, you made a humorous observation, but I don't find it too annoying, except when someone gives the wrong answer to a question. I also think it's very friendly to be welcomed to a forum instead of being made fun of for not knowing everything about the game.
