16+ on my box.
You can have one gay relationship, maybe this?

The brothel in Nulb and all children in Hommlet has been taken out, only accessable with the unofficial patch (I haven't installed it, so I don't know why the children could be something bad. IMO they have nothing to do with the brothel. But if you choose the evil path, you can kill them, this is the reason why they were taken out)
Violence can't be it, IIRC ambivalence in your culture is more in direction of sex than of blood. Can't think of anything else.
Maybe the slaughtering of all innocents if you choose the evil path?

I'm out of clues. Wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't told. Just read the chat log at the Atari forum, they speak ot "T" rating and due to intervention of Hasbro the brothel/kids were taken out - so I don't know why it's still 16+

Is 16+ a Teen rating? I just looked at ebay and it says this:
Publisher: INFOGRAMES
ESRB: Teen

I have to ask this because age rating in Germany is different, we just have the age, no letters. (And German Amazon speaks of 12+ yrs due to German youth protection laws, so this language version will probably have that then)

Well, I just maybe glad that I have not invested to much time in the game yet. With the reviews that evryone has given it maybe I'll put it on the back shelf and wait for the patch, yeh right. That would be like putting my pc in a box and then in the closet and not using it, most unlikely. However I will be wary of all the bugs that you all have had.

Kiya: Yes, I agree with you about ToEE's graphics. I've played a few adventure games myself, really. And even in PS:T, my favourite RPG, there are FedEx quests that require a bit of talking and running around. So what's my problem with ToEE's similar quests? They don't grab my attention and they aren't rewarding. Nothing in the dialogue interests me. Perhaps I've been spoiled by all the IE games.

I've heard about fallen paladins issue. It seems that, even if your paladin isn't committing the deed, the game treats the whole party as a single organism with several bodies. If you marry, well, your whole party is married, too. Amusing, but annoying.

ToEE rating: Uh, that's funny. I didn't notice it myself, and the people at the store I bought it from don't care one way or another. If it's M-rated, that's a tad silly. Heh, DiabloII is M-rated, too, now that I think about it.

Don't remind me... my fighter won the drinking contest... guess who fell and had to pay 5000 gp? - I'll NEVER play paladin again, never - if I attack = fallen. I have to act in self defense first. If I lie a bit about converting: fallen. If I take a "harmless walk to dock"? Guess again...
I hope, I can merrily kill in the temple now. Gosh, I'm sick and tired of this 3.5 paladin. I'm limited to leave quests unsolved or pay.
Quests: I agree about too many run-around quests though - and I'd like to know if my paladin is even more limited than I assume (no Rentsch/Wat/Alira/Pearl dialogue )
Kiya

Now, what is M, please? 16+? I know for what the abbreviation stands, but my box (Engl. version) has just the age - and I don't understand, why online shops sell it for T. I have no kids/brothel in my version, I'm really puzzled. Maybe they made a whole box typo series?

YEAH! I'm so happy now...my mom after awhile started to get annoyed with me for asking her about the game 24/7...so she finally told me to give up and accept defeat...NEVER!! lol, by dad came back from DC today to spend the weekend here..and he is a big fan of D&D games as well...and he believes that if it's my money i can spend it as I choose...so me and him went to wal-mart and i got it! The game so far is pretty impresive..besides the slow scrolling it's pretty awsome! I have started using the arrows to move the screens they seem to make the process go a little faster. Besides that no major bugs so far. i think my dad said we have the processor 1 Giga hertz ...lol..don't ask..i don't even know what that is! Another thing, i think they should've made the characters a little smaller like in Bauldur's Gate..their so big and they have like these HUGE circles around them which make them look retarded..especially the way they run...my dad was laughing at that...i like the smaller characters and circles...but not like Lion Heart either, those characters were WAY to small. But anyways, yeah, i'm not very far yet..i tried to read most of the manuel today..pretty basic stuff...combat was confusing at first in the tutorial...took me 3 times to beat the tutorial! Right now i'm in Hommlet and god the tasks are so LAME! All this running around, back and forth...geesh..please tell me there is alot of combat ahead of me..i'm ready for some action!

Main fighting at that stage: East Hommlet - guard tower - talk to Burnes and get the task for the moathouse (pretty difficult for low levels), he'll flag it = amuse yourself with fighting, but solve your opening vignette first. Depends on your alignment what that is. Relatively large dungeon

Easier fight: Dekla Grove = go to the woodcutter, house in west Hommlet, he'll flag it for you.

difficult boss fight: Emridys Meadows = go to the north Hommlet temple, get access to upper floor, talk to Tejorn (sp?), he'll flag it for you.

your first tiny "fight": directly south of the temple is a goblin. Keep the ring.

i fought the spiders..they were a little tough...kept missing to hit them..finally i managed to kill them both without using potions. I have a mage, paladin, druid, rogue, and a ranger. I think i'll go to the moathouse next...some of these quests seem to break off..what's with that...i'm about to go to a walkthrought guide just to be done with all these lame quests.

Divinity is Teen rated. There are different rating systems in different regions, but from the Entertainment Software Rating Board;

Quote
TEEN
Content may be suitable for persons ages 13 and older. May contain violent content, mild or strong language, and/or suggestive themes.

MATURE
Have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain mature sexual themes, more intense violence and/or strong language.

The content description on the back of the box for Divinity lists 'violence' and 'blood'.

The PEGI system for age rating:

The age rating groups are 3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+ and icons. TOEE has the icon of violence.

Valid for these countries:

Austria Belgium Denmark Finland
France Greece Ireland Italy
Luxembourg Netherlands Norway Portugal
Spain Sweden Switzerland UK

So, what will the USA do with the difference between ESRB and PEGI? (not to talk about the difference for German rating -> TOEE is 12+ in Germany )

This explains it, I've not got an American version

Tharizdun from the Atari forum:
As far as starting equipment, in Iron Man you get what they give you based on class and feats.

In standard, you are supposed to have 500gp for the party and buy whatever you want from the various tradesmen in town.

Good luck, Ironman - BTW, I typed Ironman/Equipment in the search section and got this at once

Hommlet is LAME! I skipped most of those dumb quests..the one i'm finding nearly IMPOSSIBLE to finish is the one about the barn and converting all these people...well anyways..i just went to the moat house..super easy so far..the frogs were lame...killed all four without so much as a bruise...oh yeah did i mention i'm only at 2nd level?

P.S. how long do you think it will take me to beat this game?) i don't want it to be too short
