Hola ya'all,
I got past all the traps and the Zapping Lich, ouch. There is one room I cannot get in. It is seen through a cell grate from one side then a locked door. There was a key near here but the door still won't open. I looked high and low for another key with no luck. I tried boosting my lockpick to level three, still no good.
Any help here? I'd like to have the quest completed but I think the secret is in that room.

The other thing I am curious about is the Cure for the Plague. I still have the quest but am at a loss as to how to proceed. I do have my invitation to the castle but didn't want to go there until I finish this quest in case I can't come back out. This game does not seem like NeverWinter Nights in that aspect.

There are a couple levers in the cursed Abbey that can be hard to see. screen shot

What part specifically are you at in the plague quest? Did you see the doctor leaving the quarantine area? Talk to Huge? ....

You do get back out of the castle, though there is a bit of a detour. You don't need to rush to get there. Have you cleared the Rivertown sewers yet? That is not necessary, but it is a little easier to do that before going to the castle than after. Spoiler ~~[color:"#27384A"]You loose your teleporter stones for awhile once you enter the castle. If you clear the sewers first, you can get them back sooner.[/color]~~ (highlight to read)

I haven't done anything on the Plague quest, I got the quest from the healers and all and have been killing orcs for the army since then.
So I guess I need to go to Rivertown and talk to a bunch of people, quest just says find a cure but does not direct me to anyone in particular.
I do know from the first time I tried the game there is some Dr Erlath and his house is locked but I can't remember why I know that or how I came to know I was supposed to go to the Docs house.

More specifically, left click an drag the mouse cursor over the text (or right click the page and click 'Select All').

For the plague quest;
talk to Huge, in the farmhouse just north west of the castle.
visit the quarantine area and see a cut scene with the doctor (the guards will not let you enter)
enter the cave just south of the farmlands...
Spoiler ~~[color:"#27384A"]... and get a key there
check out the basement of the Blue Boar inn
talk to the bartender about what you find
enter the doctor's house in Ars Magicana and talk to the him, you will get kicked out
get the key just south east of his house and re-enter
explore ... notice anything 'strange' about the lanterns?
find evidence against the doctor, as well as two cure potions
leave; the doctor meet you in the front room
report to Lt Robin, IIRC then go talk to Commander Ralph
return to the poor quarter; Lain (IIRC, the guy who directed you to the thieves' guild) has a key to the back door of a house straddling the quarantine fence, or you can use Lockpick
talk to the three people there and cure two of them
either kill one of the cured people or use Pickpocket (level 2) to get a cure potion back for the third person[/color]~~ (highlight the text to read)
