Blake in Ars Magicana also has spell books sometimes, and Kistandalius the mage can have charms and statuettes. Corinna or (sometimes) Mpenzak in Verdistis can have spell books, and Corinna sells charms.
You can quick save inside the shop to do this, just make sure you do not run you cursor over the merchant or hit alt before doing so. The same thing can be done before opening chests, or identifying items on the ground, etc. Any bookcase has a small chance of containing a spell book, but it may take a good deal of reloading to get one.
