Winterfox, I know of no thread here dealing with angst - but I have encountered teenagers in RL who angst and thought suicide would be a solution. IMO, they think of that not because they really want to kill themselves, but to end their inner pain. And this pain is real for them, even if others don't see this and believe they merely do it to gain attention.
Out of my own XP: it's rather tricky to handle this.
