Yeah, such choices add to the game a lot of atmosphere. baldurs gate had such choices. You could take people in your party that were evil. In BG II they would get in conflict with eachother.
Baldurs gate series to me is kind of a great starting point for games. When I consider an idea I try to place it in a BG kind of game. I like it because of the interface, the depth, the big story, the lots of sidequests, the character development, the gfx and sound. The whole immersion and experience is rewarding. rewarding enough to buy sequels.
I have always played games. I used to have endless discussion on strategy and improvements with a friend. Like Civilization. we agreed that the best game is one you keep talking about but more importantly, build on in your mind.
Take Civilization or The Settlers. These games steadily grew more complex. At Settlers I which I playe don my beloved Amiga, I came up with a graveyard. A graveyard could be needed for soldiers to boost morale, like gold. I also considered beer for that. In later games that was put in.
Anyway, the plots of any new game by Larian should be more involving, less linearity and player decisions should have more meaning.
