I guess we have to make a rule then that images in our forum are not allowed as signature to prevent any of this abuse.

Wouldn't it be easier to ban me?

Arhu has expressed what I think far better than I ever could have.
I didn't have viewing sigs disabled until now. But I'm going to do it now, this is getting too much.
And as DATD's sig is showing a black picture sized 2000x2000 I've voted Yes, without the please. This is not only annoying it is intentionally being mean towards other forum members. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" />

Hmm, it should've been remouved before you posted and the poll was about another sig. 402x150x16M jpeg which I remouved while cleaning my page today.

@DATD: We don't ban people for this kind of stuff, you know that.

@all: Why making such a fuzz for a signature? I can understand that some people get irritated by them, but why don't you just disable the signatures? That's why this option is available in the forum.
I understand both of you, but it's hard to take a decision here and just say: no signatures anymore.

I will keep on following this discussion, but so far I don't feel like disabling the signatures in the forum for all. You see, that's a difficult one: you make a forum available for many people, we want that all of you have fun, and I don't like to take the fun away, for none of each groups.

One thing I can suggest is: make your signatures to a certain limit in size.
What's the "normal" size for a signature actually?

as far as i remember only 3 forum members have pic signatures

i find it anoying if everybody on the forum would use this feature.
i've seen it before on another forum..

true it was getting a bit much,
but... i also remember back when this started, DATD did ask in a post if his sig was going to be too much.......nobody at the time minded.....

I only commented on Lews sig which was double the lenght of the other picture sigs used on the forum, and yes, that looked kind of ... obstrusive for the forum.
I don't like the pictures in the sigs, but I don't like to turn the sig option of because some people have links to their fansite in their sig (including me) and if I want to quickly visit one of those fansites, a click will get me there.

I can understand people would like to differentiate from other people, but I think, as mentioned before, the avatar is quite effective at that, the old forum just had race avatars, and I liked that as well.
Anyways, don't let me be the one who banned sig pictures from the forum, but maybe a size could be agreed upon?

I loved Dragon’s signature because its beautiful colours matched his avatar and was artistic with good sense and its size is reasonable and not offending. I followed his stile out of admiration. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
When Arhu posted his complaining I realised he had a point there and I wanted to set an example of how it is simply easy to delete an optional signature even though mine was only 2.5 kb.

On the other hand, there are sites that would ban you for saying your opinion that contradicts that of a dictator-moderator. They would ban you for being who you are and you would be rudely harassed for making any thing they consider as abuse even though it was an innocent mistake.

I applaud your intelligence and tolerance Lynn, and my best kudos to you.

I had a pure black 2000x2000 sig for several minutes.

DAD, I like the font but I think paler colours would look better with your avatar.

What's the problem with signatures? If you hate signatures, just turn them off. Is it so difficult? If you like them, enjoy.

Why restrictions? Peeps should have option to choose either they want to see them or not.
