Ok, I've searched the forums, and found a few links to the item color descriptions, but all of the links are broken.

What do the item colors mean? (the color of the name, orange, blue, yellow, etc).

Welcome to the forum ArchV

The item colors depend on how much the weapons value is.

White: 0 (bad value)

Grey: 1 (better value than white)

Blue: 2 (ok value)

Green: 3 (good value)

Yellow: 4 (great value)

Orange: 5 (brilliant value)

Hope this helps!

The colors that appear on macical enchatnted items or socketed items.

But as far as I know the colors have nothing to do with the item values but with the needed identification level...

And grey is better than blue isn´t it?

I am sorry to say this, but you're wrong, I got the divine divinity item editor the other day, and when I changed the value of the ageless partisan, the colour changed, it hasn't got anything to do with identification value from what I know.

Let me put it simply for you.

Some items have a color, if you killed seth (like I did ) brightblade should be blue, if you have been to cursed abbey halberd of the rock should be orange etc, this indicates the value of it, so merchants will offer better prices for it.

Does this help?

When you float the mouse over an item, the name of the item appears in a particular colour, representing it's quality. eg: [color:"white"]Axe of Crappiness, [color:"#888888"]Battle Axe, [color:"#4444FF"]Sharp Battle Axe, [color:"green"]Axe of the Glombum, [color:"yellow"]Slasher, [color:"orange"]OMG this Axe Rocks!

another clarification, hopefully; The colour is a rough indication of the quality of an item. Due to random stats, there is some overlap in these classifications. Also, how the game determines value may not match your own opinion.

For broken links, the forum server/domain was changed; any old links to "lariancom.siteprotect.net" just have to have that part of the URL replaced with "larian.com" to work properly.
